Ibex mounts are best suited to mountain journeys. Travel is best done in short spurts, as there is no saddle. Riding an Ibex is done with standing stirrups and holding on to the horns.  This is to avoid being knocked off if your steed decides to look around.

North American Black Bears are wonderful for long journeys, and double as fantastic sleeping companions.

This one is for Sean! He might have wanted something a little fiercer, but young black bears are just so cute with their ears and tiny poof of a tail.

The steering on a Manta Ray is more akin to a boat than a bike. It takes some adjustment, but the ride is very smooth.
